Start Date: March 31, 2023

The Special Law Enforcement Officer II class consists of over 450 hours of training mandated by the Police Training Commission.

Classes are scheduled during evening hours, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on weekdays, and on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Complete class schedules will be updated once a date for commencement is determined.

Applicants have the same entry qualifications as a regular Police Officer and they must be appointed as a Special Officer II/ Deputy Sheriff by a sending Police Agency first, before attendance will be approved to come to the Police Academy for this course.

Law Enforcement agencies will be mailed a complete application package upon request.  The completed packet is due fifteen (15) days prior to the start of the class.
